Ambulatory Surgery is the official clinical journal for the International Association for Ambulatory Surgery. It is published quarterly on this website and is a free access journal.

Ambulatory Surgery provides a multidisciplinary international forum for all health care professionals involved in day care surgery. The editors welcome reviews, original articles, case reports, short communications and letters relating to the practice and management of ambulatory surgery.

Topics covered include basic and clinical research, surgery, anaesthesia, nursing; administrative issues, facility development, management, policy issues, reimbursement; perioperative care, patient and procedure selection, discharge criteria, home care. The journal also publishes book reviews and a calendar of forthcoming events.

Meet the Editors

The Editors in Chief are Dr Mark Skues and Dr Madh Ahuja from the UK. Mark and Madhu are Anaesthetists who have led the development of Ambulatory Surgery in their hospitals in Chester and Wolverhampton. Mark has been President of the British Association of Day Surgery and Madhu has led several BADS projects. Both editors have extensive experience both nationally and internationally in Ambulatory Surgery and will try to help authors if contacted.
